known worldwide for its cuisine. Tapas bars and paella can be seen in many
different countries around the world. Similarly, Spain itself has witnessed an
increasing number of immigrants from almost every part of the world. The
influence of different cultures has had a tremendous effect on the restaurant
scene in Madrid.
One of the
major immigrant groups in Madrid come from Asia. Asia has brought a new
culinary influence to the madrileño food scene. On March 7, 2014, I attended a
very nice sushi restaurant near the Bilbao metro stop. Sumo is a sushi
buffet and restaurant. The restaurant serves sushi,
warm foods, noodles, soups, salads
