ADVERBS OF MANNER PAGES 64 AND 65

EXPLANATION

🌟 What are Adverbs of Manner?

Adverbs of manner tell us how we do something. They describe actions (verbs).

We usually add "-ly" to an adjective to make an adverb.
 🔹 Examples from the lesson:

✅ Careful → Carefully (We need to measure carefully.)

✅ Slow → Slowly (Pour the milk slowly.)

✅ Quick → Quickly (Toss them quickly!)

✅ Good → Well (He cooks well.) (This one is irregular!)

    IN SPANISH

LOS ADVERBIOS DE MODO (Adverbs of Manner)

– ✨ ¿Qué son los adverbios de modo?

Los adverbios de modo nos dicen cómo hacemos una acción.

Responden a la pregunta "¿Cómo?"

 🗣️ Ejemplo en español:

Yo hablo rápidamente. (¿Cómo hablo? → Rápidamente)

Ella canta suavemente. (¿Cómo canta? → Suavemente)

 🔤 Ejemplo en inglés:

She speaks quickly. (Ella habla rápidamente.)

He sings softly. (Él canta suavemente.)

📓 ¿Cómo se forman los adverbios de modo?

📌 En inglés, la mayoría de los adverbios de modo se forman añadiendo "-ly" al adjetivo.

Adjetivo (cómo es algo)                            Adverbio (cómo se hace la acción)

       Slow (lento)                                                   Slowly (lentamente)

      Careful (cuidadoso)                                         Carefully (cuidadosamente)

        Quick (rápido)                                                   Quickly (rápidamente)

         Happy (feliz)                                                         Happily (felizmente)

❗ Cuidado: Algunos adverbios son irregulares y no siguen la regla de "-ly".

 Good (bueno) → Well (bien)

✅ She cooks well. (Ella cocina bien.)

COUNTABLE AND UNCOUNTABLE NOUNS

TODAY WE'LL SEE UNCOUNTABLE NOUNS. HERE IS A BRIEF EXPLANATION BOTH IN SPANISH AND ENGLISH AND SOME LINKS TO PRACTICE.

Uncountable Nouns

💡 What are uncountable nouns?
Uncountable nouns are things that we cannot count individually because they don’t have a plural form.
Examples: water, sugar, rice, milk, flour, butter.

📌 Important rules:
1️⃣ We don’t use "a" or "an" with uncountable nouns. ❌ a sugar
2️⃣ We use some in affirmative sentences. ✅ There is some milk.
3️⃣ We use any in questions and negative sentences. ❓ Is there any rice? ❌ There isn’t any butter.
4️⃣ We can measure uncountable nouns with phrases like a glass of water, a bottle of milk, a kilo of sugar.

Uncountable Nouns (Nombres Incontables)

💡 What are uncountable nouns?
Los nombres incontables son cosas que no podemos contar individualmente porque no tienen una forma plural.
Ejemplos: water, sugar, rice, milk, flour, butter.

📌 Important rules:
1️⃣ No usamos "a" o "an" con nombres incontables. ❌ a sugar
2️⃣ Usamos some en oraciones afirmativas. ✅ There is some milk.
3️⃣ Usamos any en preguntas y frases negativas. ❓ Is there any rice? There isn’t any butter.
4️⃣ Podemos medir los nombres incontables con palabras como a glass of water, a bottle of milk, a kilo of sugar.
